Snooze a Target introductory notification in YNAB

New Snooze a Target feature

As a coach, I get to see new features as soon as they’ve started rolling out, so it’s possible that you haven’t seen this in your own budget yet. But a new feature I’m excited about that showed up in my budget yesterday is Snooze a Target.

You can now elect to disable a target for a specific category for this month only, to stop underfunded alerts for the rest of the month. This is great in those lean months where your priorities might not include every single target. So you don’t have to look at a yellow Underfunded bubble, just snooze the target. You do it by selecting a category and clicking the “Snooze target for this month” checkbox in the target on the right sidebar in the desktop version or, on the mobile version, touching the category, then touching Zz button. Once you’ve done that, the Available bubble should go back to green and a Zz appears next to the amount in the Available column for that category. Such visual relief!

Come next month, the target is back in full operation as normal.

YNAB keeps coming up with small (or big) improvements to make the user experience better. I think this is a great example!
